Thursday, November 15—Myakka River State Park. Wading birds, raptors, song birds, migratory birds and ducks. Leave Lake Placid Tower at 7:30 AM. Lunch at Mary Margaret’s Tea Room in Arcadia. Please call Fran (863-465-0038) to reserve a seat for lunch.
Saturday, November 24—Lake June-In-Winter Scrub State Park.—Family Friendly—Easy trip, some walking on soft sand.. Bring Lunch or eat at Jaxson’s. Leave Lake Placid Tower at 8:00 AM.
Tuesday, December 4—Scrub Pens Road. Dr. Paul Gray with Audubon of Florida will lead our group. Bring Lunch. Leave Lake Placid Tower at 7:30AM or Dr. Gray’s office at Arbuckle Creek Road and Hwy,98, Lorida at 8:00 AM.
Saturday, January 5—Istokpoga Park. Family Friendly Wading birds, waterfowl, possible bald eagle sighting, and woodpeckers. Bring lunch. Leave Lake Placid Tower at 8:00 AM. Contact Roberta Lake for more information. 863-599-0124
Tuesday, January 8 – Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary & Blair Audubon. Swamp Buggy two hour tour and Boardwalk guided tour winding through the swamp. Purchase Lunch on site or Bring Lunch. Thursday, January 17—NEW—Labelle Walk Around. Bob Mason Park, LaBelle River Park, Barron Park, Labelle Nature Park, Hendry County Courthouse, Labelle Civic Park, and possibly Port LaBelle Inn. Lunch at local restaurant. Leave Lake Placid Tower at 7:30 AM.
Thursday, January 24—Avon Park Airforce Range. Various habitats exist to view a variety of birds. Bring Lunch. Leave Lake Placid Tower at 7:30 AM or Quality Inn 6525 US 27 North Sebring at 8:00 AM. Led by Michelle Dent of Archbold Biological Station.
Tuesday, February 5—Celery Fields & Park in Sarasota. A variety of species at a favorite spot of locals for water and land birds. Bring Lunch. Leave Lake Placid Tower at 7:30 AM,
Thursday, February 14—Circle B Bar Reserve & Nature Center in Lakeland. Wetlands, and diverse habitat with lots of species. Leave Lake Placid Tower at 7:30 AM or Quality Inn 6525 US 27 North Sebring at 8:00 AM. Bring Lunch. Tram Tour, Led by Jim Upchurch.
Saturday, February 23—Highlands Hammock State Park. Family Friendly Walking tour on established trails with youth craft project at the end. Bring Lunch. Tuesday March 5—Platt Branch Wildlife Management Area. Limit 15 attendees. Red-cockaded woodpeckers make their home in the old-growth longleaf pine. Florida scrub-jay habitats, seasonal wetlands, and gopher tortoise areas abound. Bring Lunch. Leave Lake Placid Tower at 7:30 AM. Led by Steve Shattler of FWC.

Friday, March 22—Buck Island Ranch Buggy Tour Swamp Buggy tour of working ranch. Explore pastures, prairies, woodlands and wetlands, and learn about the role of cattle ranches in Florida’s environment. Limit 16 participants. Fee: $20.00 per person. Call Roberta to reserve spot. 863-599-0124
